| 2006: First Team All-MEAC selection… started all 12 games at defensive end… led all HU defensive linemen in tackles for the second straight season with 55, which ranked third on the squad… second in the MEAC with 15.5 tackles for loss, helping the Pirates finish second in the country in that category… led the team and was third in the league with career-high eight sacks for -57 yards on the year… also added a forced fumble and a blocked kick.
2005: Started all 12 games along the defensive front… First Team All-MEAC… finished second on the team in total tackles with 65, including 31 solo stops… led the Pirates and as second in the MEAC in tackle for loss with 15.5 for a loss of 65 yards… his 4.5 sacks were the second most on the team and ranked seventh in the conference… turned in a career day in the win over Delaware State when he posted a team-high nine tackles (4 solo), five tackles for loss and three sacks to earn MEAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
2004: Langford quickly worked his way into the starting rotation for the Pirates … He saw playing time in all 12 games for the year … Made the starting job along the defensive line in three contests … Registered a total of 44 tackles on the year, good enough to finish sixth on the team in that category … Went hard for 15 solo stops … Posted a team second-best 11.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage … Finished second on the squad in sacks (6).
High School: Played his high school ball at Petersburg High School … While playing with the Crimson Wave, Langford earned First Team All-District honors as a junior (2002) … He went on to claim numerous honors in his senior season … These include First Team All-District, Second Team All-Metro and Second Team All-Region.
Personal: Kendall Langford is the son of Calvin and Ardee Langford … He was born on January 27, 1986 … Langford decided to attend HU because of the good education background … He says while at Hampton University, he wants to win another MEAC Championship. |
