How Acquired: Claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots during preseason roster trimming in 2007.
Future Contract Status
2007: Was inactive until the season finale, when he caught two passes for 26 yards, both going for first downs.
2006: Selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft (106th overall).
College: Set Tulsa school record as the only tight end in school history to surpass 2,000 career receiving yards. Amassed 201 receptions for 2,389 yards and 23 touchdowns. Caught a pass in 40 consecutive games. Managed eight 100-yard plus games.
2005: Set an NCAA single-season record for receiving yards by a tight end. Had 87 receptions for 1,235 yards breaking the previous record of 1,156 yards. Named first-team All-America by ESPN.com, SI.com and CBS SportsLine.com. Named second-team All-America by the Walter Camp Foundation. A recipient of the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Postgraduate Award. Named the MVP of the Conference USA Championship Game.
