How Acquired: Drafted by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
2008: Played in 16 games, starting one. Had 20 tackles, including three for losses, 19 QB hurries, 2.5 sacks and one forced fumble. Started the Wild Card playoff game against Philadelphia. Had a season-high seven tackles against the New York Giants in the regular-season finale.
2007: Played in all 16 games, starting five. Ranked third among NFL rookies with 4.5 sacks, trailing first-round picks Gaines Adams and Amobi Okoye. Also had 25 tackles, including six for a loss, 14 quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. Tallied two sacks in the season opener against Atlanta. Led the Vikings in the preseason with three sacks and scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery.
College: Set the University of Texas record with six blocked kicks, including four in 2003. Won the Big 12 shot put and discus titles in 2006 and was runner-up in the NCAA tournament in the shot. Battled injuries on the football field his senior season, but still started 10 of 12 games and had 37 tackles, including nine for a loss, and 5.5 sacks. Started all 12 games as a junior, leading the team with seven sacks and registering 58 tackles, including 15 for a loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Became an immediate full-time starter when he moved from linebacker to the defensive line for his sophomore season, getting 48 tackles, 14 for a loss, 1.5 sacks, a career-high 18 quarterback hurries and an interception. Started three games as a freshman linebacker, registering 38 tackles.
