How Acquired: Drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
Injury History: Missed the final two games of his senior season with a right knee sprain. Was limited in the first four games of his sophomore season with a shoulder strain.
Future Contract Status
2008: Was active for every game, playing on special teams. Didn’t see any time on offense.
College: Started 43 games during his Notre Dame career. Was a consensus preseason All-America selection as a senior and named to the Outland Trophy, Rimington Award and Lombardi Award watch lists, but with two freshmen guards starting beside Sullivan, the offense and the offensive line struggled during his senior season. The offensive line allowed 58 sacks after giving up 31 in 2006 and 21 in 2005. Started all 13 games at center as a junior, credited with getting 54 knockdown and seven touchdown-resulting blocks. Started the final eight games as a sophomore after being limited for the first four games with a shoulder strain. Helped the team average 477.3 yards per game in total offense in 2005. Took over the starting center job in 2004, playing in all 12 games.
High School: Was a Parade and Super Prep All-American first-team selection and USA Today and ESPN.com second-team selection as a senior at Greenwich (Conn.) High School. Was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Connecticut. Played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Started his final three seasons, playing offensive and defensive line. Helped lead Greenwich to a 12-1-1 record in 2002, recording 20 tackles for a loss and 12 sacks. Also lettered in wrestling, where he recorded a 138-6 record in the heavyweight division and won the state championship each of his final three seasons. Also lettered in rugby.
