Biography:
The Vikings entered the 2003 free-agent signing period in search of a shutdown cornerback. They emerged from that era with former Bronco and Titan Denard Walker as their top signing in the defensive backfield. Walker joined the Vikings on March 12, 2003.

2002: Started all 16 games for the Broncos, recording 69 tackles and an interception.

2001: Started all but one game in his first season with Denver and had a career-high three interceptions and added 52 tackles.

2000: Missed the first game of the season due to a league suspension, but started the remaining 15 games, making 43 tackles and two interceptions. Registered a team-high 16 passes defensed.

1999: Tied his career best with 18 pass breakups, starting in 14 of the 15 games he played. He missed one game with a shoulder injury and didn’t start another because the opposition opened in a two-tight end formation. Had 56 tackles and one interception, along with a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

1998: Started every game and made a career-high 91 tackles. Also had two interceptions in 1998, and held Randy Moss to five catches for 32 yards in the season finale.

1997: Played in 15 games, starting the final 11 as a rookie. Had 68 tackles, two interceptions and 12 passes defensed.

College: Played both cornerback and safety at Louisiana State, starting 22 of 42 games. Ended his career with 127 tackles, two fumble recoveries and one interception. Earned first-team All-SEC honors as a senior. Majored in kinesiology.

Was an All-American at South Garland (Tex.) High School, where he played defensive back and running back. Lettered four times in track and once in basketball.
