Notebook: Hip flare-up ends Brinkley's season

Jasper Brinkley's hip injury has a few similarities to Sidney Rice's situation a year ago, including the surgeon. Brinkley talked about the injury and his outlook.

The lockout may have cost linebacker Jasper Brinkley the entire 2011 season. Brinkley had arthroscopic hip surgery last Tuesday to repair his labrum. The surgery was performed by Dr. Marc Philippon in Colorado, the same surgeon who worked on Sidney Rice's hip a year earlier. Brinkley is still unclear when he really hurt the hip.
