Who made the final 53?

The mantra of the Vikings all offseason has been the youth movement underway with the franchise. While we know the players who were cut, these are the players that comprise the 53-man roster (54 if you include suspended Jerome Simpson).

We now know who is gone, but, perhaps more important to Vikings fans, these are the players who remain on the roster in a position-by-position listing. They are as follows:

Quarterback (3) – Christian Ponder, Joe Webb, McLeod Bethel-Thompson

Running Back (3) – Adrian Peterson, Toby Gerhart, Matt Asiata

Fullback (1) – Jerome Felton

Wide Receiver (6) – Percy Harvin, Jerome Simpson*, Michael Jenkins, Devin Aromashodu, Stephen Burton, Jarius Wright

Tight End (4) – Kyle Rudolph, John Carlson, Rhett Ellison, Allen Reisner

Offensive Tackle (3) – Matt Kalil, Phil Loadholt, Pat Brown

Guard (3) – Charlie Johnson, Brandon Fusco, Geoff Schwartz

Center (2) – John Sullivan, Joe Berger

Defensive End (4) – Jared Allen, Brian Robison, Everson Griffen, D'Aundre Reed

Defensive Tackle (4) – Kevin Williams, Letroy Guion, Christian Ballard, Fred Evans

Outside Linebacker (4) – Chad Greenway, Erin Henderson, Larry Dean, Marvin Mitchell

Middle Linebacker (3) – Jasper Brinkley, Tyrone McKenzie, Audie Cole

Cornerback (6) – Antoine Winfield, Chris Cook, Josh Robinson, Zack Bowman, Brandon Burton, Marcus Sherels

Safety (5) – Mistral Raymond, Harrison Smith, Jamarca Sanford, Robert Blanton, Andrew Sendejo

Specialists (3) – Chris Kluwe, Blair Walsh, Cullen Loeffler

* denotes that, while Simpson is on the roster, he is a roster exemption for the first three weeks of the season, as part of his league-imposed suspension, giving the Vikings 54 players on their roster, but 53 active spots.
