Thomas reportedly signs with 49ers

LB Dontarrious Thomas

The 49ers reportedly jumped into the free-agent market quickly, agreeing to terms with four players in the early hours of shopping, including former Vikings linebacker Dontarrious Thomas, according to multiple published reports.

It looks as if fourth-year linebacker Dontarrious Thomas will be the first official “loss” in free agency for the Vikings.

ESPN and other Bay Area reports say that the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to a two-year deal with Thomas that would have him replacing veteran Derek Smith, who was waived recently, in the starting lineup alongside NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year Patrick Willis in the team’s defense.

The ‘Niners are also reported to have signed Lions quarterback J.T. O’Sullivan, who spent some time with the Vikings,  O’Sullivan would be re-united with offensive coordinator Mike Martz by agreeing to a one-year $645,000 contract.

The 49ers also signed ex-Panthers running back DeShaun Foster to a two-year, $1.8 million deal and added kick returner/cornerback Allen Rossum with a one-year, $870,000 contract.
